BETA!

After slaving away my friday afternoon and evening without a drop of Sam Adams, I think I have a pretty stable build of the application. If you go to the SourceForge link, you'll notice the zip file is there and is ready for download. No need to download the source and compile. I'd really like to hear from as many users as possible. I can only test so much on my own.

Starting next week I'm going to start work on the skill planner. If you have any ideas of making a more intuitive interface for it (I'm not a big fan of EVEMon's) I'll definitely hear you out.

  1. uh, that's a nifty program! It definately suits a mac! I really like it, mostly the way it's handled.

For the Skillplanner, it would be nice, if it would work like the skill queue.
Maybe when launching the Skill planner, in the main window will be all skills visible, so you can drag and drop them, or lick and select "add to plan" in a queue like window.
For modules, and Ships could be a seperate selection handy, e.g. Tools -> Skillplaner and below the skill planner selection one for modules, and one for ships. Or one for all, that opens a window that looks like the eve market.

  2. previously, i built and tried an alpha release - at that time my characters icon wasn't appearing on the forum or in any 3rd party apps
my avatar icon has been working for the last few weeks via the api - but trying the beta of your app tonight, it's not updating the icon.
i shall delete my prefs and set the characters up again, but just thought i'd mention it

also, not a great fan of the skill queue being a seperate floating window - i'd thought a sidebar that was attached to the main window would be better looking?

  3. illitrate, since my app started using a prefs file, the format of it has always been the same. I don't see a need to delete it should anything go wrong. The core data file, on the other hand, probably does as changing the model will render the store incompatible, even if not immediately noticeable. I did add a reset cache option under the file menu to make the task a lot more convenient.

Then again, you've mentioned your icon not showing in EVE's own forums or other third party apps. Maybe it's not me?

  4. no sorry, i meant when i first ran you app (the alpha version) my icon was not showing anywhere, but it has been showing since on forums and apps - which was why i was expecting it to appear in this new version

BUT fear not - resetting the cache via the file menu worked a treat! nice one.
